With the nature of winter season being one of our colder and wetter times of the year and our high school tennis season kicks off, we will be using a reservation drop in system. If you are interested in being apart of our program, please contact Coach Daniel Shidler after looking over the details to see which group best describes your child’s level.

At the Lightman Tennis Center, we offer specialized training programs designed for young tennis players who show potential and aspire to compete at higher levels, such as regional, national, or even professional tournaments. We offer intensive coaching, physical conditioning and mental training tailored to the needs of junior players. Junior Academy is a great option for those who wish to advance their game to a competitive level and/or pursue careers in tennis.

UNIVERSAL TENNIS RATING
Junior Academy has four major levels (Elite, Premier, Futures, and Beginners), two of which use the Universal Tennis Rating system in order to promote high level practices for drilling. If you do not have a rating, you must be evaluated to be placed in the proper group. We want to make sure your child is in the correct class to get the most enjoyment and skill development during their session. If you are unsure of your child’s universal tennis rating, visit universaltennis.com or email Coach Daniel Shidler or call 901-834-2996.
HOW TO REGISTER
Register using the button below. You may by check, cash, or Venmo @Daniel-Shidler. Billing will be done through Venmo for your convenience. You may pay using the “Business and Services” feature, but a 2.1% charge will be rendered if you choose to do so.

ELITE JUNIOR ACADEMY GROUP (16 SPOTS) – Standard UTR rating: 4.0 and up
Designed for high level tournament players who play events 1-3 times a month and have a rating of 4.0 or higher. Contact Coach Daniel to be included in the group chat to register each week.
Tuesday and Thursday @ 5:00-6:30 p.m.
$35 per day drop-in
PREMIER JUNIOR ACADEMY GROUP (16 SPOTS) – Standard UTR rating: 1.5-3.9
Designed for the school players or up-and-coming tournament players who want to work on their skills and strategies to advance to the next level or prep for the upcoming school season. Contact Coach Daniel to be included in the group chat to register each week.
Monday and Wednesday @ 5:00-6:30 p.m.
$35 per day drop-in
Futures (Middle School Prep) (6 spots per coach)- Standard UTR rating: 0-1.4
Designed for players aspiring to play on their middle school and high school team wanting repetitions and stroke production with point play. Contact Coach Daniel to be included in the group chat to register each week.
Friday @4:00-5:00 p.m. with Coach Cam Seay
$30 per day drop-in paid to @Daniel-Shidler via Venmo
Beginner (ages 7 and above)- No rating needed; very little to no playing experience
Designed for the junior player wanting to learn more about the beginning skillsets to develop into a player wanting to move into competition.
Custom schedule based on Pro’s schedule. You may contact Coach Daniel to get plugged into a small group.
